How do I extract the data from a CMR into a table?
Forward the CMR consignment note by e-mail to Reconcil8: the fields — sender, consignee, places of loading and delivery, nature and weight of the goods, carrier, reservations — come back as a table in the same thread, with an Excel export. Why the CMR resists copy-paste
The CMR is a form with numbered boxes (1 to 24), often scanned, sometimes handwritten in the reservations. Generic PDF converters reproduce the visual order of the boxes, not their meaning: the sender lands in the carrier column, the weight gets mixed up with the number of packages.
What the extraction does
Each box is read for what it is: box 1 sender, box 2 consignee, box 4 place of loading… The output table has one column per field, always the same ones, whichever carrier issued the note.
Repetition is the real gain
A freight forwarder receives CMRs from the same carriers every week. Once the columns are set on the first document, the next ones come out identical — the files stack up in a single workbook with no rework.
